In series three, 'Blackadder the Third', Edmund Blackadder is now butler to the moronic Prince George (Hugh Laurie), and in Regency London he finds himself crossing paths with figures such as Samuel Johnson (Robbie Coltrane), the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel (McInnerny), and the violent Duke of Wellington (Fry). Episodes are: 'Dish and Dishonesty'; 'Ink and Incapability'; 'Nob and Nobility'; 'Sense and Senility'; 'Amy and Amiability'; and 'Duel and Duality'. In series four, 'Blackadder Goes Forth', Edmund is now a captain in the British Army during the First World War, doing his best to avoid death at the hands of the Germans.
