This is the first English translation of and commentary on Li Shi-Zhen's Exposition on the Eight Extraordinary Vessels. In addition to the original Chinese text and translation, the authors provide an overview of its themes -- theory, acupuncture, herbal medicine, internal cultivation, and pulse diagnosis -- extensive commentaries on the text, and a discussion of the book's influence on subsequent pre-modern and modern practitioners.
