Montessori-Based Activities for Persons with Dementia: Vol. 1 Persons with dementia need cognitive stimulation, along with opportunities to successfully & meaningfully interact with their physical & social environments, on a regular basis. The manual describes the underlying principles of Montessori-based activities, adapted for persons with dementia. Each of the more than 40 activity plans include suggestions for additional activities. The activities in this manual focus primarily on moderate to advanced dementia, though they can be modified to become more challenging. Sensory & cognitive stimulation, motor skills & activities of daily living are incorporated in these activities, which have been field-tested in long-term care & adult care settings.
