Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Eucalyptus lansdowneana, Red-Flowered mallee box is a slender stemmed, straggly mallee with smooth grey over creamy-white bark. Adult leaves are stalked, lanceolate to broad lanceolate, to 15 x 3 cm, glossy, green to yellow-green. Red and pinkish-red flowers appear in late winter to mid spring. The name lansdowneana was incorrectly applied to another species of lower Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island; this is the unrelated box species, E. lansdowneana subsp. albopurpurea, with white, pink or mauve flowers and which is grown widely as an ornamental, particularly in Perth. The true E. lansdowneana is a beautiful, slender mallee with large, glossy leaves and red flowers.
