Serial killers have been around since Chinese prince Liu Penglai in the second century BC, if not before, but interest in them really took off with Jack the Ripper in the 1880s and has remained high with cases such as Ted Bundy, the Green River Killer and BTK (Bind, Torture, Kill) in the 1970s and 80s.
