30 Prophecies: One Story: How God's Word Points to Jesus
One Story: How God's Word Points to Jesus
Paul Reynolds
On an afternoon 2,000 years ago, a couple of friends were walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus. A very ordinary-looking man joined them and asked what they were talking about. This was a strange question as one event had dominated most people's conversations that weekend: the execution of Jesus of Nazareth. However, the ordinary-looking man was not as clueless as they first thought... "beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself". You see, their fellow-traveler wasn't just a random guy - he was Jesus himself. This book will take us into that conversation Jesus had with Cleopas and his friend and what he was trying to help them understand. It will take us on a tour of some of what "Moses and all the Prophets" said about Jesus. Who were they talking to? What did it mean to those people? How was any of it about Jesus? We will look at thirty different places in the Bible where you can find a prophecy about Jesus. Each chapter has the following extra features: Prophet & Dates Prophecy Made Then and There Prophecy Fulfilled Scarlet Thread Application Prayer -
The Bible tells stories of hundreds of people, and all of them disobey God . . . except one. So hope doesn't come from the good things we do. It comes as a gift, from what Jesus has done. Sophie, a little girl upset after disobeying her parents, learns the basics of the gospel of grace from a neighborhood cat through a conversation based on the first question and answer of the Heidelberg Catechism: What is your only comfort in life and in death? That I am not my own, but belong . . . to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. Weaving accessible truths with whimsical illustrations and engaging rhymes, this book will help both you and your children understand grace in a fresh way.

But he did something at his friend's tomb that changed everything. He showed that he came to give his friends life after death. In this vivid, moving and exciting retelling of the story of Lazarus, Lauren Chandler helps children understand that Jesus came to say goodbye to goodbyes--forever. The author, Lauren Chandler, used the story of Lazarus to help her own children in the wake of her husband's (Matt Chandler) brain tumor. Whether children are coming to terms with the illness or death of a loved one, or simply fearful of when that day might come, this book reassures them with the amazing truth that Jesus came to give his friends life after death.
