Biblical Doctrine: A Systematic Summary of Bible Truth
A Systematic Summary of Bible Truth
John MacArthur
Doctrine isn't just for theologians - it's important for every Christian because it shows us who God is and how we should live. Systematising the robust theology that has undergirded Dr. John MacArthur's well-known preaching ministry for decades, this overview of basic Christian doctrine is comprehensive in scope yet written to be accessible to the average reader - with non-technical vocabulary, minimal footnotes and a helpful bibliography. "This book comes from a lifetime of studying and from the garnered wisdom of centuries. In combining devotion to Scripture with commitment to biblical doctrine, it addresses a great contemporary need... One does not have to agree with the esteemed authors on every subject to be thankful for a volume of rich and enduring importance."? - Iain H. Murray, Author, Founding Trustee, Banner of Truth Trust "This new resource is a rich and compelling presentation of Christianity's theological foundations, providing readers with an accessible but compelling systematization of biblical truth."? - R. Albert Mohler Jr., President, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary -
Wayne Grudem believes that "theology is meant to be lived and prayed and sung" - but before this can happen, it must be understood. In this textbook, each chapter begins with a clear definition of the doctrine under consideration and moves on to a thorough exposition of its basis in Scripture. Then follow questions for personal application which help to bring out the relevance of the doctrine to the life of the individual and the church; and finally, a hymn suitable for corporate use or personal meditation. Controversial issues such as the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit, male-female roles in marriage and church, and the nature of final judgment are given a full treatment. Where he differs from other theologians, Professor Grudem is firm but courteous. "If you were hoping to find a student's textbook of theology that... seeks your spiritual no less than your intellectual formation, rejoice: Wayne Grudem has written exactly what you wanted, and he has done so very competently indeed." - J. I. Packer, Regent College Vancouver

2010 Reprint of 1961 Edition. Arthur Walkington Pink (1886-1952) was an English Christian evangelist and Biblical scholar known for his staunchly Calvinist and Puritan-like teachings. After Pink's death, his works were republished by a number of publishing houses and reached a much wider audience as a result. Biographer Iain Murray observes of Pink, "the widespread circulation of his writings after his death made him one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century." His writing sparked a revival of expository preaching and focused readers' hearts on biblical living.

The Attributes of God: A Journey Into the Father’s Heart, with Study Guide
A Journey Into the Father's Heart, with Study Guide (Attributes of God)
A. W. Tozer
Often quoted by Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley, Billy Graham and other great preachers, A. W. Tozer's words are being heard and read by millions today words like: "Origin is a creature word... All things have an origin. But when you come back to God, you come back to the One who has not origin. He is the Cause of all things, the uncaused Cause. God is Transcendent." "You'll never find Him on your own... He is far away in one sense, but in another He is as near as your heartbeat, for the cross has brdiged the gulf." "If there is anything God could learn, it would mean that God didn't know it before. If he didn't know it before, then He didn't know everything, He wouldn't be perfect, and if He isn't perfect then He isn't God." The chapters of this book were originally preached as sermons at Avenue Road Church in Toronto, ON. Whether spoken or written, Tozer's words were designed to "promote personal heart religion" among God's people. -
From T-shirt designs to prime-time television specials, Jesus Christ is hip these days, even respected among prophets and leaders of world religions as a great inspirational influence upon history. But such admiration is not always based on the firm belief that Jesus is the divine and eternal Lord. Jesusology leads students to a deeper place in their faith where the full understanding of Jesus is made clear. He was God in the flesh, crucified for our sins, raised from the dead, and is seated now at the right hand of God to intercede for us. This is the truth worth knowing-the reality that shapes our eternity. Book jacket.

Mideast Beast completes and establishes the revolutionary argument introduced in Joel Richardson's Islamic Antichrist, namely that the Antichrist will be a Muslim, whose empire will arise out of the Middle East. Whereas most students of the Bible have long held that some form of humanism or universalist religion would catapult the Antichrist to world power, Mideast Beast: The Scriptural Case for an Islamic Antichrist systematically proves from that the long awaited system of the Antichrist is even now before us and knocking at our door. Through a highly scholarly, theologically grounded, yet simple presentation, Richardson thoroughly corrects the objections of critics, establishing beyond a doubt, the Biblical case for an Islamic Antichrist. With large segments of the Christian missionary movement embracing a heretical method of outreach to Muslims known as "Chrislam" or "The Insider Movement", Mideast Beast cuts to the core of the matter, revealing the true nature and origins of Islam

It is absolutely essential that a church perceive itself as an institution for the glory of God, and to do that--claims John MacArthur--the local church must adhere unfalteringly to biblical leadership principles. Christ never intended church leadership to be earned by seniority, purchased with money, or inherited through family ties. He never compared church leaders to governing monarchs, but rather to humble shepherds; not to slick celebrities, but to laboring servants. Drawing from some of the best-received material on church leadership, this updated edition guides the church with crucial, effective lessons in leadership. This book is valuable not only for pastors and elders, but for anyone else who wants the church to be what God intended it to be.

Paul informs us in Romans 1:19-23 man's problem is that he has suppressed the truth about God that has been revealed in the creation around him. This suppression has led to darkened hearts and imaginations that are empty of spiritual reality. Man tries to fill in the blanks with whatever might be in vogue at the moment -- in biblical times it was idols and the direct conscious worship of creation. Today it might be New Age philosophy, Eastern religions, human achievement, humanistic theory, modernistic certainty, postmodern uncertainty, or any number of other theories. Bottom line: mankind has rejected God and His truth and suffers the consequences of that choice as God hands him over to enslavement by his own worldview with its resulting sins (1:24-32). It is no wonder people are disillusioned with life; sin and false beliefs ultimately have that affect.

This Little Church Went to Market
Is the Modern Church Reaching Out or Selling Out ?: 2014
Gary E. Gilley
The most successful arm of the evangelical church in recent years, in terms of growth, money and prestige, has been the market-driven (seeker-sensitive, new paradigm, user-friendly) church. Because of this success these churches are being mimicked all over the country, and indeed the world. But is this church fully dressed? Is she outfitted in the biblically prescribed robes of evangelism, edification, worship and instruction? Or, is she wrapped in rags composed of empty human philosophy stitched together with bits and pieces of truth? If the latter is true, why have so few seemed to notice? It is the intent of this book to attempt to answer some of these questions. - Publisher.
