The Complete Films of Buster Keaton

A master of slapstick and sight gags, Buster Keaton was one of the major comic innovators in film. In the 1920s he emerged as one of the trio of stars in comedy features, taking his place beside Chaplin and Lloyd as an international icon. Cars, trains, hot air balloons, haunted houses and ocean liners are just some of the obstacles that Keaton has to overcome in his films in order to find love, wealth or the comfort of his family. He continued appearing in films until his death, and particularly notable were his appearances in Chaplin's "Limelight" and Billy Wilder's "Sunset Boulevard". This book includes commentary on each film along with casts, credits and synopses of the screenplays, and photographs.
